Dhruva Markowski, President

Drew Markowski has more than 25 years of experience building and racing drag, autocross, and circuit cars.

He is the guy you bring your car to when you need it done right. In a world of pretenders, Drew is the expert.

In 2014, Drew opened D Mark Performance in Arlington Heights. Back then, a friend of his invited him to share the space with another performance shop and split the cost of the lease. At the time, he was moonlighting as a racing tech out of his garage while grinding it out at a less than challenging dealership gig.

However, Drew’s natural talent, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for racing quickly grew his reputation in the Chicagoland area and filled his appointment book. Moving to a dedicated shop space was a natural step.

Since then, Drew’s shop has grown and filled with the specialized tools required to service every part of the Ford platform, including an in-ground dyno capable of supporting 2400hp.

Drew’s specialty is building custom tunes. He has built hundreds for all types of machines, including those for heavily modified and forced-induction cars. He has attended hands-on SCT training and has completed all available Ford courses. In total, he has more than 10 years of experience writing and modifying tunes on SCT, Haltech, AEM and many other piggy-back or standalone systems.

What’s Drew’s secret to success?

“LOL, not being a hack. I’m very thorough and detail oriented and have a lot of knowledge in the Ford factory and aftermarket world,” he remarked.

Well said.

Jon Skulemowski

Jon Skulemowski has loved cars his entire life.

Something about them caught his imagination.

As a kid, he would soak up as much as he could about new models and their performance while racing his large collection of Hot Wheels down the stairs of his parent’s house.

The first job he ever took, as a 14-year-old high school freshman, was as a porter for the auto repair business across from his high school. There, he learned about how that business worked and the nature of auto repair. To this day, he can mount and balance a tire better than anyone (and give Drew a run for his money.)

From there, he worked his way through school as a lube tech. It’s not glamorous work, but that oil isn’t going to change itself!

Looking for a better opportunity, he moved to the installation bay of the Car Audio department at his local Best Buy. It may not sound that great now, but during the early 00’s as a 19-year-old, it was among the more glamorous departments. There, he got MECP certified and his Jeep Wrangler sported the only Pioneer stereo that could show naked women with a custom programmed display. He eventually made his way to another Best Buy as the Senior technician before departing for greener pastures.

After growing a family of his own, he had to let his Wrangler go for a “safer” car. Soft tops aren’t the best for carting around a family. He never thought in a million years that he would buy a Mustang. The auto shop he worked at as a teenager used to rail against how bad Fords were engineered. Complete hunks of junk, they said. But the Coyote engine won him over. He saved his pennies and bought a brand new 2014 Mustang GT Premium for an absolute steal in the Spring of 2014, just before the new 2015’s were due to drop.

Since then, he’s replaced every single suspension component, and managed a few drivetrain mods, along with a few underhood items. He turned to his friend and tuner, Drew, when it came to installing his Paxton 2200SL kit.

Jon’s car makes 635 hp at 6300 RPM and 546 ft/lbs of torque at 5450 RPM on Costco 93.
